Vandros has lived quite the storied life thus far, but is never one to back down from a new adventure when one comes his way. He is an easy-going soul with a casual approach to most things in life, save only for his smithing work.He can often be found loitering around Ishgard or the streets of Ul'dah, with a cigar between his lips and wandering eyes passing over the crowds. Easily-approachable and generally easy-going, but be prepared for a sailor's mouth, as the man never minces words and says exactly what's on his mind.
Vandros' childhood began in the Brume of Ishgard, living in a small hovel with his impoverished mother. He never knew his father. According to his mother, he died some time before Vandros' birth, but when pressed for further details she was always reluctant to answer, or avoided the question altogether. The two eked out a meager living, like most in the Brume, by doing menial labor when they could find it. Eventually, however, Vandros' mother took ill shortly before his sixteenth nameday and tragically passed away. Seeing nothing left for himself in Ishgard, he secretly snuck aboard a supply caravan headed for one of the border outposts, and from there made the long and arduous journey to Limsa Lominsa.
Once the young Ishgardian had found his way to the port city, his new life began. Armed only with his wit and nothing to his name but the clothes on his back he signed on to a merchant's ship leaving from Aleport, as a fresh-faced deckhand. Vandros found his true love to be the high seas, with winds whipping through the sails, waves crashing against the hull, the sun beating down on his brow as he worked the deck and sang great shanties with his crewmates. He traveled all over the known world, to the Near and Far Eastern continents and back, experiencing cultures and meeting peoples he'd never dreamed of. This was his life for next fourteen turns, and he loved every bit of it. Alas, however, as his age climbed higher, his wanderlust began to wane, and he felt the call of dry land beckoning him home to Vylbrand.
Though his wanderlust had all but left him, the brazen Ishgardian was far from seeking a peaceful and comfortable life. So it was he took up mercenary work, plying his trade with pistol and sword, across Eorzea. His talents did not lie on the fields of battle, however, and he never found himself in the middle of any of the great conflicts that plagued the land. His work was more atypical of the venerated adventurers of Eorzea. Slaying beasts here, escorting a caravan there; Nothing that would go down in the annals of history, but it was interesting enough work to keep the Ishgardian satisfied for some time. Eventually, however, the need to fill his days with action waned and, having saved up enough gil from his adventures across the seas and his work as a sellsword, he then sought to lay roots. He returned to Vylbrand and Limsa Lominsa proper to begin learning the smithing trade.
Studying under the masters of the art, Vandros found himself to be a quick study and natural with a hammer. He found his true calling striking red hot steel and shaping it into a piece of art, or a deadly weapon - or, alternatively, a combination of the two. Vandros now owns his own workshop and forge in Ishgard, and fills his days with crafting necessities for Ishgard's restoration, and commissions for customers who seek out his services. He has also been spotted frequently in Ul'dah. For business or for pleasure has yet to be determined.

Howdy! Thanks for looking into Vandros here!
21+ player, I've got about 15 years' worth of roleplaying and writing experience, across many platforms and universes and settings. I tend to post paragraph-style because I enjoy detail to a great degree, and will exclusively RP in third-person.
I'm open to pretty much all kinds of RP (casual, slice of life, walk-up encounters, combat and so on).
I'm in the Central time zone, as I live in Texas (yeehaw!), and I'm primarily on around 10/11 PM because I work mostly night shifts throughout the week. By all means, if you saw Vandros hanging around Ul'dah with the RP tag on and came to this profile, hit me up for some RP! I'm always down for it!
I think that about does it for this section. Looking forward to RPing with you, prospective RP-person!
Smithy: In need of a blacksmith? Repairs to a weapon or armor? A new blade forged just for you? Look no further! Come visit his forge in the [Malboro] Empyreum, Ward 17, Plot 20! It's the little shop on top of the hill with the blue roof. Can't miss it!
Alcohol & Smokes & Good Conversation: This burly smith is almost always seen with a cigar or a flask in hand, and always willing to share and have a chat with a stranger. Swap stories of adventuring, talk about work, or just any topic in general, really. So come on over and talk a spell!
A Sailor's Tune: Owing to his many years spent sailing the open seas and belting shanties with his crews, Vandros has developed quite the baritone singing voice. Some lucky (or unlucky, depending) few may get the rare and dubious honor of hearing the man singing as they pass by. Or one could ask him for a tune and he might oblige!
[More to come at some point. Probably.]
